Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, i have an announcement to make. I am officially engaged!!
Eugene proposed yesterday morning, and i said, "yes!!" I was caught off guard, i was totally in awe of the engagement ring and what can i say, I've got a wedding to plan!!
We had decided to go for a day trip up the mountains, to the Dandenong Ranges. I had wanted to visit some gardens and the tulip farm, since its the start of spring so it should be quite pretty up there. We went to this flower garden & nursery, it was really quaint and pretty. We walked up the little pebble pathways, and there were little corners with stone benches. We sat on this little white iron cast bench, that was in a mini gazebo. I thought it was a really adorable little spot. We sat in silence, listening to the forest sounds, birds chirping in the distance. It felt like we were the only 2 people on earth. I held his hand, and i realized they were sweaty! Now, Eugene is not the kindda guy with sweaty hands.
So i asked him if he was nervous. I was trying to be funny. He said he was a bit nervous. ;) Thats when i started to get a little nervous too. haha. He started to tell me how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. At that point, I was listening intently cause a little voice in my head was going, "girl, something big is going on here..." my heart started to pound. He took out this gorgeous little box from his jacket pocket. The color was unmistakable. It was a Tiffany box. And ladies, let me tell you, at this point in time, all coherent words failed to register in my mind. He opened the box, and there it was, the tiffany engagement ring. In my mind, it went something like this:"omg! Omg! OMG!!! are you serious?!!" He was so nervous, i was too stunned to say anything, we were both silent for a moment, i gathered my thoughts and told him, "You've got to do this the right way."
So he got on one knee, and he said, "Beatrice, will you marry me?". And i said... "Yes!" He slipped the ring onto my finger. And there you have it, we were engaged to be married! I had always thought he would be the kind to propose during a nice candlelit dinner. So he did catch me off guard. It was the perfect proposal with its little imperfections and i wouldn't have it any other way.
So this was the day that i decided that i would spend the rest of my life with him. My fiance, my husband to be, whom i love with all my heart, Eugene.
