The girl's fete at school.

Its picture posting time! While i was in Brisbane, my cousins Kelsey and Hollie had a school fete coming up. If you're wondering what a school fete is; its something like Hari Kantin that we have in M'sia. Only that there's a special 'tent' for the adults, serving nice cool cans of BEER. Naturally all the dads were seen congregating the tent. So me and the hubs were there for the event. The kids had activities like recitals, dances, choir.. and the theme was Xmas in July. Which was cute, imagine kids with santa hats, and reindeer horns singing xmas carols.
There was also a petting zoo, and they had the funniest looking duck, which appeared to be wearing.. white pouffy wigs, on closer inspection, they weren't fake wigs but they really do have pouffy feathers on their heads. Talk about waddling in style.



Hollie went in with a cup of animal feed, to go around feeding all the cute animals in the petting zoo. Hollie's cup was gobbled up by one very hungry sheep. I think she was in that pen for less than 3 mins, all the while feeding just one very famished sheep. After Hollie left, i spied it preying on yet another unsuspecting kid.
Kelsey was part of the school band, she plays the flute, and a very funky purple flute at that. They played some xmas tunes. They were a little out of sync but thats the charm of school bands.
Then came the school's main highlight, the dance performances. We were busy all morning slapping thick layers of make up on the girls. Haha.

We had a great day at the girls' fete. And if I ever have a kid thats going to be brought up the aussie way, then at least now I know what a fete was.
